How to blind copy (bcc) the Forgot Password email

Is it possible to blind copy (bcc) the Forgot Password email? We use the Forgot Password link on our new portal, but quite often our portal customers will say they never received the email with the temporary password. Sometimes the email turns up in their spam folder, but often it does not, so we'd like to send a blind copy to ourselves to confirm that the email has been sent and to have a copy that we could then forward to the customer.

This is not currently possible through Portal product configuration. That said, you might be able to achieve the same result through SMTP server configuration.

I recommend checking the Portal logs for errors of the following form.

Forgotten Password Email Message could not be delivered

If the logs are clean then Portal is delivering the messages successfully to your SMTP server. In that case check you SMPT server logs for issues to track down the problem.

That said, saving a copy of emails sent by your system is a pretty "Big Brother" thing to do, and may not be appreciated by your customers, even if it done with their best interests at heart.

If all you need to do is verify that an email went out, your SMTP server logs should tell you when the email came in and when it went out, to whom it was sent and where it went -- which is usually enough for this sort of situation.
