Issue with Directory Comparision Deployment

Hi,

We are using Teamsite 6.7.1 SP1 on Solaris 10 and Open Deploy 6.1.1

I am using transcational Directory comparision deployment with default comparision rule, but its failing.

In the Open deploy log i am getting following error :

Hi ,

I dont know if this will help or not , usually roll back happens where from a set of transaction even one fails , that might be the reason why its working when you do with out any transcation , try to minmise the transcation to may be one and see it works ,

Also chk the DoCopying function and chk at the receiver if the config file entry for the base server is proper

The transactional deployment fails as it requires disk space equal to about 3 times the size of deployed content. So whenver this criteria is not met your transactional deployments will start failing. For non transactional deployments, there is no such requirement hence it is deploying the desired content without any errors.
I would suggest freeing some space on the target server if you want to run the deployments as transactional.

Abhishek, could you please tell me where can i see the DoCopying function and are u talking abt the entry of odrcvr config file on the receiver server.

Is the error consistent when run in transactional mode?
The same errors on the same file?
Are the target receivers also 6.1.1 on Solaris?
Are you sure you showed all the error messages?

Check if there are any *.iwnew and *.iwold files in your target server. These are temporary files created when rollback generally fails. These files are undesirable. Not sure it would help but try
1) Stopping OD services.
2) Deleting all *.iwnew/*.iwold files
3) Start the OD services again.
4) Try running deployment again

These steps might help.

Check that your directory deployment legs, do not overlap or if they do you may need to do a proper exclude filter because what could be happending is that the OD temporary directories and files are being created and not yet ready for the other deploment leg when it gets ready to commit the transaction.

Is this a multidefinition deployment,Also try running an xcopy from the
source to destination directory outputting the stdout and error to a log file please, this could narrow down this problem
