Restriction for access of file widget

Hi,

We are using VCM 8.1 and have a requirement of disabling the file widget for restricted users for a content item.
We are trying to acheive this using vignette OOTB feature  and we are unable to do this as we dont have file widget properties which supports authoring groups like the other CCE widgets.

Is there any way we can acheive this using vignette OOTB feature without customization.

Hi Soujanya,

I don't know a way to do it OOTB.

have you considered replacing the File widget with a Content Select CCE configured to select only Static Files and marking the allow creation checkbox?
