deployment on target server with 2 ODinstance

Hi all,

my quesion is can i do the deployment on the server which has 2 Opendeploy instance of different potrs as listner.

for example

MY SOURCE SERVER : abc
MY TARGET SERVER : 123
i have a 2 OD instance created in the target server (123).

i want to deploy the content from the source (abc) to target server which uses both the OD instances but not simultaneously .

i.e., one time i want to use instance 1
and other time i want to use instance 2;

is it possible to have this structure? if yes..how can i configure odnodes.xml

A Node Tag in the odnodes.xml is an arbitrarily named(symbolic) entity to reference a Receiver (Listener), nothing more.

As always, you use Node's Host and Port attributes. As long as there is a listening OD Process on this Address/Port
a Sender does not know and does not care if that's a dedicated Receiver, some Receiver Instance or Delivery Adapter
Interface on the other side of the wire.

here..in the target server i have 2 instaces..one using 57100
as listening port and other using 57101.

if i trigger the deployment , what is the port numebr it uses...( conside that the same entries made in both the odrcvr.xml in the instances )

That's simply incorrect (ambiguous) odnodes File. Different Nodes should be uniquely named, check odnodes.dtd

The only time I've ever had to run listeners on more than one port was when running multiple receivers on the same target server. In this clients' case, they were upgrading from version 5 to 6, and we simply changed the default RMI (9173) and listener (20014) ports for testing.

Otherwise, I can't think of any other reason why multiple ports would be required.

You could have different instances of the receiver configured with different SSL configurations (and/or one without) to accept deployments from different hosts for different target areas -- this is the kind of thing I can see happening at a service provider providing a hosted receiver for multiple customers. Beyond that, I'm not sure there's much need for this kind of complexity for a single organization.
