EditLive inline links Issue

Hi ,

We migrated from 7.6 to 8.1 recently and found that the EditLive inline links created in 8.1 are not working. The channel links and CI links migrated from 7.6 are working fine(we did customization for that in 7.6, and the links related html code likes

"<a onclick="window.open('/vgn-ext-templating/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=5ad82cba4aee6110VgnVCM1000005106090aRCRD&cpsextcurrchannel=1','popup', 'width=640,height=480,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes'); return false;" href="/vgn-ext-templating/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=5ad82cba4aee6110VgnVCM1000005106090aRCRD&cpsextcurrchannel=1">HR Central</a>").

While when we made new channel links and content links in 8.1, we found those links doesn't work. The link generated in EditLive for channel link likes

"<a href="vgn_ext_templ_rewrite?vgnextoid=113de2d086e55110VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD/vgn_ext_templ_rewrite">Changes in Your Life</a>" And when they are being clicked , the system gives blank page.

Are there any special configurations we need to do for channel links? Please advise. Thanks.

Did you read the documentation explaining how to migrate the old inline link widget to the new EditLiveJavaCCE ? That explains exactly what you have to do

Thanks Mario, I read it, so you mean the only way to archive this is to do customization? As the time is urgent, we are thinking about if we have more choice.

oh, sorry, what is the document you mean? Do you mean the email you sent to me a few weeks ago? "How to use a custom Link Settings form for the EditLiveJavaCCE in 8.1 i.e. the Bible of the Inlink widget customization".

You didn't explain clearly what your goal is. What I can tell you is that if you have made some customizations to the old widget we need to understand if they are still necessary in the new widget and, just in case, how to port them under the new widget architecture. Consider that, in any case:

1. The old inline link widget is not supported on 8.1.

2. The old "CPS" format is no longer supported

OK. Now I just want to know, if leave the customization, can we select some words make it links to a channel and allow user to click it in the page then go to the channel ? This should be OOTB feature, now it's not working in our 8.1 WEM. Please advise.

You need to translate editlive body content before rendering it on the page..

Use below code snippet in your display view, then Channel/Item links will work

ETLDeliveryTranslator etlTranslator = new ETLDeliveryTranslator();

String trasformedContent = etlTranslator.translate(editLiveBodyContent, requestContextObj);

Out.println(trasformedContent);
