Just started happening today!

TS6.7.1 W2k3 Server

My users can edit files just fine and submit them for approval fine, but when they hit the "Generate" button, they changes do not reflect.

However, once deployed to the live server the changes are showing...

Wednesday was fine, no problems.

No one seems to be reporting any error messages, so where should i look to find out whats happening???

You will need ot do some digging before anyone can help you. What WF do you use ? Does it automatically run a generate command ? TPL or XSLT ? One user or all users ?

Log on to the box and try your test. Edit a DCT and use generate, does the file change ? Try preview does a zz_tst file get generated ?

thats what i needed... where to dig.

custom WF. implemented by an outside consultant.

we use the visual editor by Ektron andContentCenterPro for editing and submitting of pages.

all users, even me.. and im a master account.

i dont see DCT files, i have DCR... same thing?

yes a zz file is generated, and the preview does reflect the changes:

/main/Internet/WORKAREA/marketing_wa/web/zz_tst_username_1_1230917961411_username_preview.asp

i just generated that page after hitting preview.

now, i just noticed that it looks like its holding on to some older version... i have a test page i have made several changes to and it looks like the page displayed after generating is 3 versions ago... like its not grabbing the new version ...

what does your workflow do ? Obviously something is going out to the production envionment. What is ?

Compare the generated zz_....asp file with the last one generated ? Are they the same ? Use a file compare tool. It is possible that the changes to the DCR (not DCT as I entered earlier) are in an included file (like as ascx) or a DB.

Also, check the permissions of the older version ? Anything funky ? Finally, is this for 1 generated file ? All of them ? One type ?
