An application with multiple views

Hi,

I have a application with a default view with a specific lay-out, that I used in my Site and it is working well.

But I would like to use another instance of this application (to add this application for a community for example) with a view different of default view (with other lay-out for example) in other point of my site. However, when a click in this application that I added, it always goes to the default view. How can I do to switch between different views in a point that I decided or that I choose previously?

Hi Paulo,

I guess , from your email, application corresponds to a portlet type, if that is the case, what you require is to switch between views of a portlet. Based on the page on which you place the portlet, you may choose the view of a portlet.

If this new view is not already available in the portlet details tab ( display view dropdown), please refer to A.3.9 of VCA developer guide which explains about writing and configuring display view jsps.

Hi,

My question is related to the application (with a default view) when I added to a Community (I added the customized application as Forum, File Library, Blog, using + button, exactly as reference site does) but, when click in this application I always go to default view, but I would like to go to a different view, and I dont have a option to customize this portlet as you said.

The link of application in Community is already ready: like this:

In this case, I just added the application, and I dont have a page or a portlet to configure display view. Have I?

Hello,

groupHeader.jsp picks up the default application list mode (defaultListMode) from CommunityApplicationObjectReference.xml.

We have a mapping defined for each application type and mode to the page it points to. Please check the mappings in site console -> components -> mappings.

For example, please checkPresentation - List mapping, which maps the application type “presentationlibrary” and the default list mode to the “Presentation – List” page, which in turn has an instance of the “Community Applications Presentation Library Portlet “ configured with “Initial Display View” set to “*Presentation – List” which is defined in Views.xml.

So, a new view can be defined in Views.xml and the portlet instance reconfigured to use the new Initial Display View.
