TS access problem

When I try to access TeamSite I get the following message:

"Unable to find link instance fs_navigate_to_parent"

Whats this due to ? How to solve this ?

When does this message come up? before or after the login page? How are you getting to the login page?

1) By typing servername in the address bar in the browser, I get to the login page
2) when I type username and password in the login page, this error message comes up .

This is really something for Iwov-support.

Before you contact them you could try to:
1. check your log-files for any errors (but I'm sure you have already done so, haven't you?)

2. Re-start *all* Teamsite services

Which Anti virus is running on your TS box, Most probably, it would be Mcafee. I got same issue with one of my client at Denver.

Did you ran the IW Diagnosis?, do it and upload the results here.

We have Mcafee anti virus running in our environment.
I have never run IW Diagnosis. How to run it ? is it just iwdiagnosis on command prompt ?

Rishi, you mentioned that one of your client had same issue in Denver. Is that a big problem and recurring ?

With the restart of teamsite services, problem is gone. But I am worried about recursiveness.

1. Go to the Interwoven's Support Site
2. Select Tollbox/Diagnostic Tools
3. Select the DT for the proper OS
4. Run the tool and send the output to support.

Client opted to uninstall Mcafee and used Trend Micro. However once they upgraded to 6.7.x, that issue was not repeated.

I will recommend you to run iwdiagnosis and share the results here as attachment, one of Devnet fellow user will find out the issue for sure. Smiley Wink

I am facing the same issue "unable to link to parent instance fs_navigate_to_parent" while loggin in to the Teamsite 6.7.1 server.

i could initially see the adminitratve tab .. but now not able to see anything. i can also navigate to content center standard, but cC professional is not working.

i Could not find anything specific in the log files.

Please help.

Are you only having this problem when you start with the Admin UI? After you've gone to the Admin UI? Or when you login through the normal TS GUI?

Users who are not Masters (or Admins?) should not be able to access the TS Admin GUI - but there is a bug in some of the recent versions of TS that allows one to access the tab directly via the URL (as you showed) - which might cause confusion for the rest of the TS GUI.

I have seen something similar in this case:

user a was a master & last on the admin ui

someoone removes master from user a and then he tries to use TS. He does not have access to his last location and is SOL.

Try making that user a master & then going to workflow or filesystem. Then remove master again.

we face this problem when we login through normal TS UI. but if i use the direct admin link i can reach to admin UI still when i try to navigate to "Content UI" i get this error "unable to find link instance fs_navigate_to_parent"

This error is faced by all the users and masters.

Any idea what can be the issue?

We are facing the same issue for some of the users in a particular group. These are non-master users setup on Active Directory. This is happening on TS671 SP1 Patch2. Win 2003 Server Standard Edition SP2. There is no error message in the log files. I am yet to run the diagnostics, having hard time to find it on support.

Does anybody know how to resolve this?
