Open deploy permission problems (newbie)
sef
hi
Im trying to configure open deploy (im on ts 5.2) and i keep consistently getting errors about my targetFileSystem not being a valid destination.
ERROR: [/herramientas/server/web/portafolio] is not an allowed deployment path.
Im testing on main server (sender and receiver at the same time) and i have set my file odbase.xml
with allowedDirectories. My odnodes.xml is also set.
If i change my tartetFileSystem to $odhome/tmp it works, and my odbase.xml config section looks like:
<allowedHosts>
<node host="steb01">
<allowedDirectories>
<path name="/herramientas/servers/iw/iw-home/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/tmp"/>
<path name="/herramientas/server/web/portafolio"/>
<path name="/herramientas/server/web/portafolio/epicontent"/>
</allowedDirectories>
</node>
<node host="steb01-2">
<allowedDirectories>
<path name="/MY/ALLOWED/DIR/PATH-2"/>
</allowedDirectories>
</node>
</allowedHosts>
my deployment section on my config file looks like:
<definition name="FullArea">
<source>
<sourceFilesystem area="/iwmnt/default/main/appsIntranet/EPI/WORKAREA/epiwa" >
<pathSpecification>
<path name="."/>
<filters>
<excludePattern regex="./*\.tpl" />
</filters>
</pathSpecification>
</sourceFilesystem>
</source>
<target useReplicationFarm="TeamSite" >
<comparisonRules
dateDifferent="yes"
/>
<!--
<targetFilesystem area="/herramientas/servers/iw/iw-home/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/tmp" />
-->
<targetFilesystem area="/herramientas/server/web/portafolio" />
</target>
</definition>
My target directory /herramientas/server/web/portafolio permissions are set to 777...(as a note, i have two different directories "server" and "servers" over herramientas)
Then my questions are:
- is there any other configuration file i could possibly be missing ?
- do i have to set a file called odrcvr.xml even if my deploy.cfg is not pointing to that?
thank you very much!

On the face of it, it looks like what you have should work.
Since I cannot see your environment, I'll ask a few questions...
1) is the *sending* host "steb01"? That would appear to be the implication, but one cannot tell from the information presented.
2) I assume you've checked for typos - yes?
3) After setting the allowedDirectories - did you remember to restart the receiving OpenDeploy server (which could be either a Base Server or Receiver)?
If you are deploying to a Base Server - then you will only have the odbase.xml - not the odrcvr.xml on that target node.
If you are deploying to a Receiver server - then you will have the odrcvr.xml and not the odbase.xml.
The *sending* server which is always a Base Server will always have the odbase.xml and not the odrcvr.xml.
4) Is this example from a loop-back deployment (from/to the same server)? If not - is this deployment going through a firewall?

Ahh the beauty of forums and 'searching' cheers ghoti what should have been obvious but was causeing me problems for 1/2 a day has just been solved.
/me walks off into the distance muttering "resetting the receiver server - of course!!!"
