Concept of Featured items

Douglas_Alencar

hi,

i would like to know what is the concept behind "Featured items". I see when I featured one item, other people logged can see that one too that I featured, is that correct? I would like to have my features, and just me see my featured items, and the same for others. Ist that possible?

thanks in advance,

Paulo.

I would to know if is possible filter FEATURED ITEMS BY USER. The manual (OpenText Social Communities 8.2 XML API Reference Guide.pdf) only says about filter by "This list should be filterable by site of application, and by type."

thanks in advance,

Paulo.

Featured Items are designed to be featured for all users. Perhaps you could use or expand on the Bookmark functionality to create private featured items.

Calendar events are children of the Calendar application, so a generic XAPI query asking for child objects will give you a calendar event count.

Paulo,

Featured items have been provided to draw a site members attention to certain content. An item can be featured only by a Site administrator or a Curator. If within a community, an item can be featured by the Community manager.

As I understand, What you are looking for is a “Favourites” Functionality wherein you want to set certain items as Favourites and those show up in your home page and you want to see others favourites too. This feature is not available in the product but is a roadmap item for a future release.

Regards,

Ramesh Swaminathan
