Adding Users to Groups

Hi,

I am trying to add Users to Groups and I saw, when I added a user, that all the others were deleted. Is there a reason for that?

I had this exact problem to add groups to Communities. In this case I had to pass - all other groups plus the new one, using something like that (data.addParam("readers", "1.60.6901 1.60.4303 1.60.11 1.59.2");)

Is the same case with users and groups?

Imagine that I have a group with thousands of users, and I need to add one more user. Have I to pass all them every time? Is there a different way to do that?

Please could you give a good way to do that?

data.addParam( "setMemberString" , user); //id user
data.addParam( "object" , group); // id group
data.addParam( "type" , "UserGroup" );
CommunityDataService dservice = CommunityDataServiceUtil.getCommunityDataService( "admin" );
Response resp = dservice.execute(action, data);

When I did this, all other users of the group are deleted, and just the new one is in the group.

What I need to do to keep the all others adding the new one?

Hello,

“setMemberString” removes all existing members and sets the new members passed.

If the old members must be preserved, then the parameter name to be used is “addMemberString”.
