Moving document from one folder to another

Hi all,

I'm trying to do what I think is a basic task and having some problems understanding why it doesn't work...

Moving a selected document to another folder using a Icommand... this is my code...

Quite a few unusual elements in your code snippet, such as mixed use of NRTxx and IManxx object models, and explicit creation of a new session (you could just piggy-back on to the session available in the ICommand itself), however nothing that should stop your code from running.

You don't describe what the symptoms are: are you getting any errors returned?

Well perhaps I should make the code another way, just tryed to use the samples that were available Smiley Happy

and perhaps testing too much..

it's giving me a error -2147418113 [Folder ][AddDocument ] An unrecognized exception has occurred.

I just want to make a simple move from a folder to another...

Have you looked at the IManMoveContentsCmd command? It is the native ICommand which responds to the "Move.." option in FileSite, and which is used for moving a document from one folder to another.

Perhaps you could piggy-back off that command, unless of course you have much more complicated business rules than you have already disclosed.

In any case, maybe you should try setting up some kind of test harness to establish what the real problem is. The following code should add a document to a folder, as per your original example (i've assumed you're using VB6):
