Hi,

Is it possible to create a new dcr file2 from the existing dcr file1 and just change a couple of fields. I did this in unix and when I tried to open the file though content center it says the file cannot be displayed in the browser window.When I am trying to edit it says "There is no file association for the file file2 and it asks if you want to add one and a form comes up with fields like DDE message,DDE application,command line etc.

Can any one help?

I hope you understand as why it goes for a toss in browser or asking for a file association???

Dudley, By default, all interwoven DCRs are set with extended attributes. when you are copying the DCRs outside the TS UI, TS not recognizing these. Now your file1 is already set with EA, you can set the .xml with file2 in your complicating unix script and trust me, it will not ask you for the associated program......Or write a FormAPI and use OnSave function to make a copy of the current DCR as XML format.....there are many ways to do it.

You can use iwcp instead of cp, and it will copy the extended attributes for you.

Currently when we do copy of a jsp/html page in TS, it just copies the jsp/html file resulting both jsp/html file linking to same dcr.
i.e. A.jsp ->a.xml
- Copy A.jsp as B.jsp
Result: [ A.jsp & B.jsp ] -> a.xml

Out of the box, the simplest answer is No. However you could write a custom script which could copy the files and then de-couple them.
