WEM on VM

Hi,

Can we have our WEM 8.1 SP2 configured on RHEL 6.X VM? We currently have our WEM on dedicated servers but trying to move t on VM. Just wanted to check if WEM can run on VM usinf RHEL.

Supported Platform Matrix talks about how OpenText supports Virtualization

 

 

 

Virtualization

OpenText provides support of the OpenText software when running on a virtualization vendor virtual machine in the following manner.

• The virtual environment must meet the minimum software and equivalent hardware requirements as defined by OpenText.
• If an incident arises and it is a known OpenText issue, OpenText Customer Care will recommend the appropriate solution.
• If that solution does not work, the incident will be referred by the customer back to the virtualization vendor for support.

OpenText Customer Care will remain engaged finding the cause of the incident with the customer and the virtualization vendor.

• If the cause of the incident is determined to be an unknown OpenText issue when running on a virtualization vendor virtual machine, the issue may be required to be reproduced on a physical system by the customer or the virtualization vendor.
• All incidents which are determined to be virtualization vendor specific will be referred back to the virtualization vendor for support.

Because of the impacts on performance, OpenText recommends careful planning and sizing before deploying its software in virtual environments.

Also in short REHL 6.x is not yet supported for WEM 8.1 in any form (in VM of Physical).
