Hi folks,
It's Thursday morning and what better time for a shameless plug than right now?
For those who haven't spotted it yet, or if you've missed our promotion on the OpenText Customer Care Twitter and Facebook feeds, we've gone live with some great new features on the Knowledge Center this week. These are features that we've been hoping to introduce for a while, so I'm happy to see them go live this week.
I am very pleased to introduce what we are calling Page Actions at the top of every page in the KC. These are the three little icons in the top right corner - the Home, Star and Mail icons. The Star icon allows you to very quickly add a KC page to your list of personal favorites on the site. To access your favorites at a later time, simply select Favorites from your login menu, also in the top right. The Mail icon does just what you expect - it pops open your mail client and allows you to quickly email the link for the page you're on to yourself or to any other recipient.
But for me, the exciting new feature is the Home icon. This icon allows you to quickly set any page on the KC as your personal start page on the site. Is the Portal Patch page your favorite place to start? Great! Set it as your personal start page. Is this WCM discussion forum your favorite place to start? Perfect. Set it as your personal start page. The next time you sign into the KC, that is where you will start. Note that the big OpenText icon in the top left of every page will always take you back to the main page of the KC, not your personal Start Page
Looking ahead a few months, when we introduce personal landing pages for the KC, maybe your favorite place to start will be your personal page - showing you all the content you're most interested in seeing. If that's the case, you will be able to set that as your start page using this nice new feature.
