Get current channel from Content GUID

I am using WEM 8.1, and trying to get channel from content GUID.

I have created a button in grid of Content Workspace, now selecting a content (which is under a channel) and then clicking that button, so in the jsp (this is not a display view jsp) I got the content GUID, but not able to get the channel GUID under which that content is. I can get all the associated channel of that selected content which I dont want, I just need the channel GUID of that selected content, so that I can create a FURL.

Appreciating any help on this!

Given a Channel you object you can get its site from Channel.getData().getSiteRef(). But to say you want the parent channel of a content instance but not the associated channels of the content instance is nothing but confusion. Content instances do not haveparent channels. They only have associated channels. If a given content instance only has one channel association then it’s somewhat reasonable to consider that one channel as its “parent” channel, but that’s still not technically correct. The concept of parent suggests containment and content instances are not contained by channels, but are only associated with channels. And they can be associated with multiple channels, so if a content instance has multiple channel associations then you have to know which channel you are interested in by some other context that is not represented by the ContentInstance API. In any case, you can use the ContentInstance.getChannelAssociations() to access the channel associations. And FWIW, all of this is true for static files too.

Hi,

Your button needs to send this parameter to the JSP. If JSP receives only content GUID, then there is no way to know which channel was being displayed when user clicked the create button.
