The VignetteIdentity and VignetteTrust certificates included with Web Experience Management (formerly Vignette Content Management) expire on August 25, 2013. The tracking number for this issue is VCM-47595. Systems Affected All versions of Web Experience Management (Vignette Content Management) prior to 8.5. Note: Web Experience Management 8.5 is not affected by the issue described in this alert. Details By default, the installation directory (vinstalldir/ Content/version/security/) of Web Experience Management includes identity and trust certificates. These certificates will expire on Sun Aug 25 11:22:14 CDT 2013. Impact If the certificates expire while the system is running: - Configuration agents will stop accepting requests.
- Any attempt to push configuration changes will fail.
- NodeManager will be unable to stop or start the VgnVCMServer.
- Once the certificates expire, the Java process for VgnVCMServer will have to be stopped manually.
If you attempt to start a system with expired certificates: - Configuration Agents will not accept any connections from VCM.
- VgnVCMServer will not start. (The Admin server will be unable to communicate with Nodemanager to start the VgnVCMServer, and the manageVCMServer.sh script will fail)
Solution To resolve this issue: - OR - - Install the updated certificates. For more information, refer to Knowledge Base Article 37963098.
