Pt Compilation Issue - Escape Sequence

Hi,

i am experiencing simple PT issue because of the escape sequence. Can anyone tell me how to use it. Below code giving me error

onClick="window.open('{iw_value name="dcr.data.url.url_link"/}');"

This fails because of escape sequence and i get the invalid token error.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. It works but takes url instead of its value.

And if i try

var url= "";
onClick="window.open(' " + url + " ');"

It fails in compilation. Because i need to pass url as string and it fails in the escape sequence.

It should be like this:

onClick="window.open('url');"
[/html]

Hi,

It works and compile fine but dosent take the value of url. So in the html i get
onClick="window.open('url');" which is wrong.

What i need is

lets say

var url = "http://www.google.com";
onClick="window.open('url');"

And the compilation should give me

onClick="window.open('http://www.google.com');"

If the value of URL in your DCR is valid, try out this code:

var url= "\'"+""+"\'";
onClick="window.open(url);"
[/html]

The variable url is not recognized in your case since it is enclosed in a double quote. So, you might use this:

onClick="window.open(\'\');"
[/html]
