If I unlock files, which are being used by another user, what happens to the modifications made to the file by another user ? Will I be disallowed to unlock the file in use and the other user be still allowed to continue making changes or will he be booted out and new user will be allowed to work on the file ? Or will both the users allowed to work on the same file ?
If myself and other user both are modifying the file, how will both the changes be accommodated for that file ?

If you unlock a file being edited by another user.. let the user know prior to doing so.. You can unlock a file only if you are a Administrator or master.unless you do something customised..

There are different locking models based on which the lock mechanism will behave..You probably are using the Submit Lock..

It depends on the file in question. If it is a DCR, and the other person has it open for editing - unlocking the file underneath them may have little to no effect on their ability to save their changes - and potentially overwrite other changes made by someone else. Figure out the test cases to run - and run them - you'll get your answers that way (which might be TS version-dependent)
If it is a non-DCR - then the user has transferred a copy of the file to their local disk and that is where they are editing it - the test cases here is whether - if someone else unlocks/locks the file - can the original person who did the editing still upload their changes? Again, figure out the test cases you're concerned about and run them.
