Error installing Vignette 7.4 Content Delivery Services

iYes, that's right. Vignette 7.4 CDS. We are migrating away from some older hardware and need to configure a new delivery stage for a Vignette 7.4 CMS instance.

When I run the "setup_linux_cds_740.bin" file, I get the following output:

InstallShield Wizard

 

Initializing InstallShield Wizard...

 

Preparing Java(tm) Virtual Machine...

.............

 

At that point, it just dies ... no error output, no log file created (that I can find).

 

We are attempting this install on the following hardware/software:

 

Linux version 2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.x86_64 (mockbuild@x86-003.build.bos.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-3) (GCC) ) #1 SMP

16GB RAM

Lots of free disk space

j2sdk1.4.2_19

 

Current guesses include that this version of Linux is not supported, or that the installer needs access to a directory that is locked down.

 

Any help available for older versions like this?

Hello,

As far as  I can tell Red Hat 4.x was supported in 7.4.

The usual cause of these issues is running out of space on the tmp for unpacking. The install guide provides instructions on how to specify an alternate temporal.

If that doesn’t work, open a ticket.
