Can we use configurable variables to pass value of time-out link

Hi All,

My Requirement: During Job instantiation user will select the day and time when Task A needs to be activated.

My Design: I am trying to achieve this thru Timeout link which will transition to the successor task when the time period which user had selected during instantiation has passed.

Issue: I am trying to achieve this by declaring Configurable Variable on timeout link and passing the value which user selects in custom instantiation screen to the timeout link. But timeout link is not taking values of config variable. Timeout link show seperate drop down containers for Hours and Minutes in WFM.

Has anybody tried this? Please tell me how can I pass value of config variable to Timeout link.

Yes, this is possible. Declare a global variable in your WFM that has the same name as the one in your custom_instantiation.cfg. Reference the configurable variable in your timeout link and you will be good to go Smiley Happy

. I do this within our custom workflow for scheduling deployments and it works great.

Nice to hear this. What values do you pass in the global variable from custom_instantiation.cfg which ultimately gets referred in timeout link. Is there a syntax for time values??
