Customization of edition name

Hi

We have a requirement to have edition name prefix with branch name and end with date and time stamp.

Teamsite by default picks the last created edition and generates a name on similar lines but not exactly same.

For example 'branch_name_200905221709' is my last edition, now when i create a new edition using New Edition Link, the teamsite creates following pattern
'branch_name_-009598412'.

I want to know is there anyway we can customize the edition name so that on clicking New Edition link, it always create name of same pattern.

Your example is, I believe wrong - if your last edition was:
branch_name_200905221709
the next auto-named editions should be:
branch_name_200905221710
As the default naming algorithm increments numbers at the end of an edition name by 1.

However, no - I don't believe there is anyway to customize the auto-naming functionality of editions - you could, however, provide your own names (either by typing it in the field, or handling it programmatically).

I'm not sure if you can use UITK to override the OOTB link for creating editions, but if you can, that would be the way to do it - replace whatever is currently being called to do it with your own program.
