Access preview image

Dear All,
We have written a simple web application(in Java) that uploads images into Medibin. We now want to extend the application so you can preview images. I understand the GetPreview method which returns a byte array for the file. However, this would require some servlet to wrap the method, which seems a bit OTT. Is there a simpler to preview the images ?
Many thanks
Lee

So thumbnail previews exist in the MediaBin server as byte array metadata associated with the asset not as actual files, so the API is just delivering them as they are natively stored.
How else would you want to access them....as a file URI? Accessing them as byte arrays allow the thumbnails to be streamed to the web applications response without having to stage a file which, I believe, is generally a more preferred approach.

Hi Mr_Cruise and msnider,
i am new to mediabin, I need to use this image preview concept. Can u anybody tell me how to peview the image using the getPreview method.
But i am using getPreview method .. it returns byte[].. how can i go with this to preview the image? Do i need to use insertAsset() method?
and also i am looking for the solution using URI concept. i have URI string .. how can preview the image using this URI?
or is there any direct way to preview the image?
Thanks & Regards,
Senthil
