CMS Search Collection File Access changes

I was wondering if any one has come across this and can help us resolve it.

We have a backup process that runs every night at 10:30. One of the servers it backs up is the one used to store CMS Search collections. Recently we noticed that it wasnt backing up certain files due to access privileges and has been doing it for some time. We tracked it down to collection files created by cms search (eg, 00000924.ddd). It doesnt happen to all of them, just a few. The file appeared fine for about 10 to 14 days (from the random few I investigated) and them, bam, all of sudden the files access changes and the backup can not access it (the security tab in the properties window of the file disappears). The only thing I can see is that just before its access changed it was accessed by some nightly scheduled task called iwndxfreezebr at 2am. However, the backup for that day ran fine. It was the day after it had problems. And the parameter passed to iwndxfreezebr was -u indicating that it was unfreezing a branch.

Anyone run into this before?
