API Error
ckenn
Some users are encountering the following error when using the api to RemoveMetaData
"MBPScriptModel.MBSession 'error 8004041c'
The user is not authorized for the action or access to the object"
Any idea what might cause this? Other users in the same user group can perform the action without any issues.
Can someone describe the permission system the MediaBin API?
Is there a document that describes this?

Was this working before?
This means that whatever userid you are using in the code does not have permission to remove metadata from the asset.
Are there any overlapping groups that the users might be part of for whom it works? You might have to look at who is in what group and what groups have permissions to what.
There is no separate permission for the API. It is the same as how it is in the various MB clients.

First the user in question would need at least "change" permission to the asset. Then they would also need Change permission to the metadata fields you are trying to delete.
The error returned does not distinguish between operations that are illegal and unauthorized (making a distinction would leak information) and so other possibilities are:
1) One or more of the metadata fields being requested do not exist.
2) One or more of the metadata ids represent metadata that is not set to be editable. This is a system-wide property and does not have anything to do with permissions (e.g., you cannot "remove" an asset's colorspace).
