spfJSName parameter

Does anyone have any documentation/resource that could provide more information about the " spfJSName" parameter that is used in URLs to visualize content instances?

Is that an OOTB thing or is it part of the "content workspace extensions" package, do you have any specific documentation on that?

e.g.,

The spfJSName is the name of the js callback function while spfJSArgs contains the arguments of such a function (^ is the arguments separator).
