transferring data from one branch to other

I have got two branches. branchA and branchB in production box.

Data comes from development box to branchA, which Iguess is for testing and from branchA, it goes to branchB. To move data from one branch to other do I have to use OpenDeploy ?

You should not guess such things about your production box Smiley Wink

You should mention about the data which is coming from Dev box to Prod box, is it content files, code files, etc and how often do you require to transfer such data. You can use OD to transfer the content from one branch to another.

As Branch A and Branch B resides on same server, you can directly copy or even do an iwupdate. It is not a rocket science. To enhance, you can even write a small script and put in a scheduler so that it does the work on its own during the time, when there could be less load (early morning) on the server.

You can use OD to transfer the content from one branch to another.

Open Deploy can only be used in case the Production box was installed as a base. However, in my opinion i would never suggest to use OD to move files from one branch to another with in same server.
