Proxy Remap

LeeCharlebois

I've looked at some old threads, I'm looking more for confirmation here.

Environment:
- TS 6.7.1 SP1
- Solaris 10

My images are not rendering during previews. My DCR's are being previewed from:
- //HOSTNAME/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/taxInfo/t1_complex/mtce/WORKAREA/t1_complex_mtce

The images are stored here:
- //HOSTNAME/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/common-commun/WORKAREA/common-commun/htdocs/images

My iw.cfg:

...

[iwproxy_remap]
global_default_map=/
taxInfo_remap=/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/taxInfo/t1_complex/mtce

[taxInfo_remap]
_docroot=/htdocs

...

[iwproxy_preconnect_remap]
### Remap images.
_regex=^(.*)/taxInfo/.*/(WORKAREA|STAGING)/.*/images/(.*)=$1/common-commun/STAGING/htdocs/images/$3

Help!?!?

1st when you preview, do a view source and post the actual path that is in the image path.

log on to the box, kill iwproxy and then run it from the command line with the -d option, rerun your test and save the output. Dont post ALL of the output, but do post a small portion , relavent to a specific image reference above.

+1 - the full path would help us troubleshoot.

Secondly, the preconnect remap points to staging, so make sure your images are submitted (you'd be amazed how often this is missed).

Here's a chunk from the iwproxy -d:

[Pretranscoded path is: /images/clf2/sig-eng.gif]
[Using pathtrack cookie: '/iw-mount/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/taxInfo/t1_complex/mtce/WORKAREA/t1_complex_mtce/preview/zz_tst_lxc038_0_1223382252719_lxc038_preview.html']
[areaization, external_remap, and iwproxy_remap:]
   /images/clf2/sig-eng.gif
   --->  /iw-mount/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/taxInfo/t1_complex/mtce/WORKAREA/t1_complex_mtce/images/clf2/sig-eng.gif

[Response sent back to client:]
HTTP/1.0 302 Redirect
Connection: close
Location: /iw/cci/meta/no-injection/iw-mount/Pubs-Pubs/main/CRA-ARC/taxInfo/t1_complex/mtce/WORKAREA/t1_complex_mtce/images/clf2/sig-eng.gif

As I suspected, it's looking for the GIF in the root of the t1_complex workearea. But based on my regex, it should be redirected to the common-common STAGING area, right? And yes, all images in common-common are submitted to STAGING.

Is there something I'm doing wrong with making my updates to iw.cfg maybe? The steps I'm following is simply copying the new iw.cfg file - overwriting the old one - and doing an iwreset -a. I should also mention that I've also tried stopping the server, creating a backup of iw.cfg, copying the new one, starting the server - same result.

Any help appreciated!

Nobody? Really?

Nobody? Really?

Please note that Proxy rules evaluation terminates on the first match, that's why *specific* (detailed?) regexes should go before *generic*
ones. It certainly looks like Proxy found a match, only not the one you wanted.

Try to reconfigure temporarily. Leave an absolute minimum like images regex only, restart proxy and see if that helps.
If it does, find the regex that interfered. If it does not, post the whole Proxy configuration block not just few pieces

Thanks for the reply Boris. In our iw.cfg there are really no *generic* regexes. Just *specific* ones. And you say that it looks like proxy found a match, but I'm not sure about that - although I've been wrong before.

It looks to me that it's simply defaulting(?) to the root of the workarea that the DCR is being previewed from. Why do you think proxy found a match?

That is why I'm leaning more towards how my updates to iw.cfg are being done and if they're in fact being implemented. ??

This may be a very simplistic question - but its the kind of thing that's gotten a lot of people in the past:[indent]Are you sure you're looking at / been editing - the correct iw.cfg file?[/indent]On Solaris -

/etc/iw.cfg

is used by default,

iwhome/etc/iw.cfg

is not used - so if you've been doing all your regex's in the latter - that might explain why they don't seem to be doing anything.

LeeCharlebois

Sorry, but BTW folks - ghoti had it right. I was updating the iw.cfg in /iwhome/etc/iw.cfg
