Cannot open pdf after upgrade to 6.7.2

Hi All,

We upgraded from teamsite 6.7.1 SP 1 to 6.7.2. and after that facing one problem. I am short of ideas, so need your views.

When i open a pdf file in 6.7.1 SP 1, It perfectly open the file:

When i open the same file after the upgrade:
It gives me a blank page and only after i click on the address bar again, it opens the file for me.

Any ideas.. what could be wrong... ??

If this is repeatable - I suggest contacting IWOV Support and opening a case.

It seems strange that the upgrade should cause this problem, as the "customer web server" is the one responsible for "rendering" the PDF - but it is possible that something changed with iwproxy or some other part of the system used to transmit the request to the customer web server that might be causing the problem.

Anything in the access.log or error.log? Also try looking at the servletd.log to see if there are any error messages which might lead to the cause. Also check the file extension association to see that it has not changed.

I checked all that, as per the logs the file is rendered properly and no error is shown. When i click on the address bar again it shown the pdf file and does not update any logs.
Looks like some incompatibility with acrobat reader 6 after the upgrade.

If you have a back up of the vpreview , check if you have any handlers set for pdf files.

And once you restore it back , probably you can see the same feature as in 6.7.1 Sp1 for the PDF's

I did check the vpreview folder but could not find anything related to pdf on both 6.7.1 and 6.7.2 .

The pdf file does load and than it displays the blank page, and when i click again on address bar it displays the file correctly. So it does not look like MIME issue.

I check servletd web.xml and my IIS server MIME setting, all looks ok.

Please let me know, if i should be checking any other location as well.

I have even logged a case with Interwoven support.

Hi,
I haven't experienced this problem with Teamsite. But with Firefox where the PDF plugin was not installed properly. One first click blank page and on refresh the PDF loads up.

I reinstalled firefox and PDF plugin to make it work. Check you are facing this issue with IE or any other machines...

Hi All,

This is what Interwoven support has suggested and it worked fine after this.

a. Go to $iw-home/iw-webd/conf and open up iwwebd.conf.template
b. Put “#” at the beginning of the following lines to comment it out. There are two instances of this line.
Include __IWWEBD_HOME__/conf/compress.conf
c. Run iwreset -a
