DD Connection parameters in database.xml
Ugan
When doing the standalone DB deployments, in the database.xml we mention the privilages of the DB like User name and password and other parameters. I have noticed we are using the DB user field with a shema owner user id which has the privilages on the DB for a particular schema, Now everything works fine. My question is can I change this DB user field with a normal DB user id (not a owner id) with DML privilages in the DB ? Any body using a normal user id credentials ? and have you expected any problems in using it. To my knowledge until a USER with valid access and DML privilages should not have any problems and the same can be used in the database.xml. I am still curious to know if anybody is using it and did they noticed any problem.
is there any rule or restriction to use only Shema owner id for DB connection parameter ?
Also DD runs and creates lot of internal tables (temp) for manipulation of the content and hence it runs several queries like below before to deployment :
DBD: SELECT * FROM USER_TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME='IWDELTRACKER'
DBD: SELECT * FROM USER_TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME='IWTRACKER'
DBD: SELECT * FROM USER_TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME='IWOV_IDMAPS'
Can I modify or customize these queries ? if so where can i do that ? I want to change the USER_TABLES to ALL_TABLES; Did anybody made these kind of changes anywhere, Would this impact the framework ? Any suggestions on this ?
Thanks,
UD.

What database (vendor and version) are you trying to deploy into and what version of OpenDeploy are you trying to do this with and on what platform (windows, linux, etc.)?
You should not have to use the schema owner.
