Reverse Deployment issue

Hi,

I am performing a reverse deployment from an application server to teamsite. The deployment is successful if I am deploying all the files on target server without using any filelist. If I am using filelist based reverse deployment, the deployment is getting failed? Is it something that reverse deployment will not work with filelists??

Any thoughts?

I haven't tried filelist based reverse deployment but posting the logs of both reverse target and source along with the OD version would help us understand the issue.

When I am using filelist based reverse deployment, i got the log as:

I think "useReplicationFarm" is not allowed as an attribute for source element in case of a reverse deployment. Try changing it and placing it under the node reverseSource like this :-

I am not too sure whether this will work but worth a try.The way it is currently being used in your configuration could be a probable reason for the failure. Try this and post the results.

I tried with the same..but still the same error. In reverse deployments, you can use "useReplicationFarm" to specify the target nodes. It works in both ways.

Even if I did with this, I got the same error, it seems that Reverse deployment will not work with File list.

Any other thoughts?

Is your other definition working fine - the one without filelist?

yes, the definition without filelist is working fine and files are getting deployed to teamsite successfully. The problem is it deployes all the files from target to source.

I just checked the syntax for file list based deployement. try changing this under reverseSource :-

Are there any other error messages in any of the other log files (on both sender and receiver (or reverseSource and reverseTarget) sides?

You probably already know this, but this bit us when we first ran a reverse deployment with a filelist, but the filelist needs to reside on the source server of the reverse deployment. Also check the permissions on your filelist. Just random thoughts...

Hey Bhupathi,

As I gone through the log snippet that you have posted ..it seems like you are running OD 6.0.2.

It's a BUG in OD 6.0.2 For using filelist in reverse deployments. Also OD 6.0.2 has end of life. So if possible better to go for up gradation.

Yes, we can't do filelist based reverse deployment in this version. The way is, you need to dump the entire source to one temp location, then you copy what ever the files you want to teamsite.

We are facing the same issue. The OD version is 6.2.1.0 for both sender and receiver. Any idea why this is happening?

It was working perfectly and it suddenly stopped working. Don't know what went wrong...

Hey Rajat,

As you mentioned.... you are facing the same issue.....Can you specify what exactly issue you are facing...any specific error messages is there in your log files.

Also let us know if the deployment is on cross-platform (Windows - Solaris /Solaris -Windows etc.)
