Migrating User favorites (6.5 to 6.7.2 Windows 2003)

Would like to validate our process for the TS 6.5 upgrade to 6.7.2 on Windows 2003. We need to copy our users favorites to a new server that they will be running 6.7.2 on. Can I just copy the iw-entities folder over to the new server and this will populate the user favorites?

I would check with Support on this. Not sure if the entities database file format remained the same between those versions.

If not, you could probably do a little trial-and-error examination of some entities files on both systems and write a script to perform the translation - I think the big problem is that you may not be guaranteed the order (name) of the files that get created - so you may have to also parse the Index on both servers to determine the actual source-to-target file mappings.

I doubt very much that this is possible. Ask the support, as fish is suggesting and let us know.

Support said this could be done since we are moving from one server to another. Our users and store will not change but like fish mentioned there are some additional steps that need to be taken but those are minimal.

The backout process is self explanatory by restoring the previous iw-entity directory.
