Copy files and perserver time stamp

I am moving files from TeamSite 4.5 to TeamSite 6.7.1 sp1.

I have tried to copy entire workareas to the new TS using scp, rsync and tar. None of my attempts successfully migrated the time stamp of the files.

Each gave errors stating that the time stamp or utime couldn't be updated because permissions was denied.

Is there a trick to do this or does TS require that files are updated with the current time as part of it content management needs?
