Script for automatic user creation

I am trying to automate the process of user creation and group creation in TS 6.7. ?

Does any one has some sample scripts so that I can start with it as I donot want to start from scratch.. ;(

Cant give you a script but you should take a look at the CLT documentation.

Look this two up:

iwadduser.ipl and iwgroup.exe.

It is pretty simple and you can script it in you fav scripting language.

For 6.7 - I'd recommend using iwuseradm add-user over iwadduser.ipl (which I don't believe exists in 6.7.x)

Both exist but you are half correct since both commands will be needed if you are setting up users with a role other than master. I could not find a way in the docs to setup non master roles using isuseradm. "iwadduser" does exist on 6.7.x see 671sp1 CLT doc page 70.

Here is a description of both CLTs.

iwadduser
Adds a TeamSite user to the specified role files in iw-home/conf/roles and the entity database.

iwadduser -V -user jerome -roles master,admin

iwuseradm
Add and remove TeamSite users, change user attributes, manage authentication, view and set user roles, specify default user interfaces.

You are "half wrong" - and Fish is 100% correct. Only iwuseradm exists in 6.7.x and you do not need both. With the flex roles iwadduser is a goner.
Your trust in documentation is certainly admirable but in this case it's a known documentation bug (just try to find the executable)

Yep, I could not find the iwadduser.ipl in 6.7.1. So Ghoti is right. And yes, the documentation is the first thing I look at if I do not know the answer to the question. Don't we all? If the docs do not lead me in the correct directtion then I turn to Interwoven and then to the forums. I have encountered enough bugs in the docs to know better. In any case, I am glad we had this discussion this way when the next poor sole that reads the documentation is not mised lead like I was. I don’t know what I would do without your wisdom and patience Boris.

This is true - the responses before this one were under the assumption that the accounts already exist on the servers, just not as TS users - and thus the suggestions were for how to create TS users, not OS/LDAP/AD accounts.

let me first thank each of you for your inputs.i am going thought the commands and working on the script

Regarding ldap/os when i get request to add the users ,the users will already have already have their ldap/os Accounts.
