access.log and error.log

When I try to open access.log and error.log, I get the error "Acces Denied".
I have admin rights for the time being, so I can check all the files. So how come is access denied. I had put this question earlier also and I was informed that these files are continuously updated and thats why access may be denied. I am not sure, if this is true.
Even if thats true, how can I check access.log and error.log files

I tried using different editor also, but it did not open that page. It did not even give the error that I am getting with notepad.
Thats why I am confused that how to check this file ?

Have you login to server using admin account or an user account ?
If you are using user account then try admin account.
To access the log files you must have previleges to iwui folder at [\\iw-home\local\logs].

Are you able to open other log files like [servletd_out.log] ?

I was logged in with my admin account. I have access to iwui folder and I have no problem with servletd_out.log

access.log and error.log are in the log_archives folder only. I dont see them under iwui folder.

Are you looking for TeamSite iwwebd (Apache) logs or "customer web server" (Apache) logs?

If the former are not in IWHOME/local/logs/iwui - check IWHOME/iwwebd/logs/. If they're not there either - someone must have configured them to be placed somewhere else and you'll have to dig around the various configuration files to figure out where - we can't tell you.

You mentioned "I was informed that these files are continuously updated " ==>if you are trying this on windows and TS locks log files for writing.
Try "more" on windows tail on unix on . Also check your /iw-home/etc/iw.cfg file for log locations.

You should run /iw-home/bin/iwgetlocation -a

Look for iwlogs. It should tell you where the log files are stored.
