Solaris 9, TS 6.5 with Search, SP2 + patch 1767
I noticed today in
$IWSEARCH/private/bin
an executable
iwndxoptimize
iwndxoptimize -h
Usage: iwndxoptimize [-h|-v]
iwndxoptimize branchpath
Optimize the relevant collection associated with the specified
branch. It will determine and remove out-of-date collection
files, do some space compaction and will perform other
optimizations which may result in faster searches.
Has anyone used this CLT? with success? And does it do wonders? ;-) I can't find any doc about it. Is it recommended to execute this regularly (like iwfsshrink, or so)?
( the following issue was solved already: )But when executing, it says
Calling mkvdk to optimize the collection
/extra/data/gwts/iw-search/0000000100000000000000510000006B00000000000020200000014C0000000000002250_1
ld.so.1: /extra/app/gwts/iw-search/verity/vdk/_ssol26/bin/mkvdk: fatal: libvdk30.so: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
EDIT: anyway, I fixed that by setting some env var as seen in /etc/init.d/iw.tsindex
