Backup of templatedata

I have to take backup of templatedata including all data types DCRs,tpls and datacapture.cfgs. In the data folder i have to check DCR started with QA*(for e.g. QAtest1,QAtest2 etc) should not be copied.Can i do it with the help of File::Find and regex? Please give ur suggestion how should i start.

irWalk over File::Find - read the perldoc, play with the code, it's not that difficult (with a little patience and perseverance)

if you're on Un*x, I would be tempted to solve this with some find and tar combination. Something like the following. But whatever you want ;-)


cd $WORKAREA_ROOT
find templatedata/ -type f ! -name 'QA*' > /tmp/filelist_to_backup
tar cf /tmp/backup.tar -I /tmp/filelist_to_backup

BTW, have you thought about any Extended Attributes on DCR you may need to backup (esp. if you have non standard EA).
