Have you tried looking through the Admin manual (like page 190 of the 671SP1 Unix or 194 of the 671SP1 Windows manuals) - that should answer the question about servletd. Access Service is, I believe, tied to OpenDeploy - and if memory serves correctly - to the CSF component for handling authentication ... but I might be wrong about that (and don't feel like reading the manuals for you right now - sorry)
