How to get the attached file list in WFM

Hi All,

My requirement is to throw an error when more than 20 files are attached, when the job is initiated.

In WFT we use the command to __VALUE__('iw_file') to get this list and we can get the count from a custom code.

How can we get the count of the files in WFM? I understand that we need to use the pre-processor but I am not sure on the API's to be used for this.

Can some one help me out on this.

You can look at the CSTask API, and it has a getFiles method which will return an array of CSFile. You can easily do a count or length on that array and it should give you the number of files attached to that task.

Hope preprocessor is the best option for this. Can u pls help me out with the APIs for this.

Create a preprocessor code by writting a java class.
In your class, you need to implement the execute() method.
It returns the WFMWorkflow object.
Use the
```
interface WFMWorkflow
```
to call the method ,this method returns the array of files attached to the Workflow Model.
```
WFMFile[] getFiles() 
```
Count the length of array.
As required you can throw the message

Slightly off-track but ... Why do you need to be concerned about having more than 20 files associated with the job? That seems like an arbitrary number with no rationalization.

Slightly on-track - take a look at this and see if that gives you what you need.

The requirement is not to attach more than 20 DCRs to the Workflow. Not sure why this was thought of this way.

With the $IW_FILES variable, I am able to get the files that were pre-selected during workflow instantiation.

But when we attach a Folder and start the Workflow, the $IW_FILES returns the folder name as such. And say if the folder has more than 20 files, then we should handle this exception condition.So here we need some folder parsing to check on the files recursively and get the count.

Guess the $IW_FILES variable is not of much use for our case.

Can you please validate the below Approach:

1. Write a pre processor to get the count of the files attached using In process command (override execute()) and return error message.

2. Display error message in the Job Initiation Form (How to do this)
