WEM 8.5/DPM Content publisher portlet 2.0

Hi,

I am trying to implement a W

EM8.5/DPM site and followed this guide: "Dynamic Portal - Connecting OpenText Portal with Web Experience Management"

The Content publisher 2.0 portlets that I created following that document, have the following options in their details tab:

My question is: where are all the eligible content types check boxes that this portlet used to have?

When I use this portlet, according to what is described in the guide, the portlet looks empty and the content region is not there.

I'm wondering if the portlet cars got corrupted when I created the DPM.

Any help wil be greatly appreciated

in WEM 8.5 there is a new way to implement DPM sites:

1. Don't use Portlets! (The Item Publisher portlet was deprecated in 8.2 and the Content Publisher Portlet will still work but the components are now based on the regions defined in the page template.

2. Create a Portal Grid that uses the page layout tag (the sample one is a good starting point)

3. Create a WEM page template then define your regions there (though you could still use CP portlets to do this but this is not necessary). The only reason CP portlets still work is for compatiblity reasons.

4. For each region defined on the template, select the appropriate components (these used to be on the CP portlets).

5. Then preview your template and add some components in design mode

6. go to page mode in preview and verify all is working.

Hi Evan,

I'm also seeing this error in the portal logs:

2014-01-14 17:17:40,205 [http-8080-4] ERROR com.vignette.ext.templating. portal.taglib.VAPIncludeTag com.vignette.ext.templating. portal.taglib.VAPIncludeTag - Error... Null ServletContext for context:/sites, page:/in_line/ trackDependencies.jsp. Please check the deployment of TAS.

Any idea about where to look?

looks like you're missing the servlet context in tomcat's server.xml file for your /sites app. When you ran the vgncdawar tool which context did you create and deploy? If it's the default (/sites) then go to server.xml in tomcat (or whatever appserver you have) and add a cross-context include for /sites.

Also check deployment ot /vgn-tas

the DPM install/config guide will show you how to do this.

general troubleshooting for this:

1. check status of /sites and /vgn-tas in your JEE environment (tomcat)

2. check cross-context include in your application server (/site and /vgn-tas)

3. verify parameters chosen for vgncdawar tool against your environment

4. check application server classpath for correct jars

5. check that you've activated DPM in the AppSvcs instance of the mgmt stage

6. restart WEM server after activation of DPM?

7. check application server JAVA Arguments (working dir, install dir)

Carlos, sorry for delay in responding. is this working ok now? The server.xml seems ok to me...

what does vgnTest give?

For 8.5, the context is no longer vgn-ext-templating but is not /sites AND there is no need to deploy the jta.jar otherwise these instructions will get your 8.5 site working...
