What displays in the unlikely event?
System
Default content. Default content comes from what is inside the span tags of the module code in the template. This should be the content that you would serve had you not been running the experiment. In almost all cases, this would be the same content as the control/benchmark that is part of the experiment.
To understand what your default content is specifically, you can go to the test page itself and append “sticky=x” where “x” is an invalid creative number (in other words, one that is not being served). Ensure that what renders in this case is acceptable content, in the event – for example, a user did not have JavaScript enabled. If you have any doubts, please consult with the Technical Consultant that set up the template for the experiment.

Just as a note, this is true unless there is something in the failover copy. If our servers are down, which is unlikely then Akamai serves whatever is placed in the failover copy.
Failover copy can be found at 'Change failover copy' under 'Other Tasks' at the template level. To test failover copy append '?sticky=99999' to the URL of the test page.
Failover copy is a must when doing XML templates since there is no default content. It is also useful when doing A/B tests. Sometimes it is necessary for style sheet references to be removed from the default content and placed individually in each variable. The default stylesheet references would then be added to the failover copy.
