Login and OpenDeploy Error

Hi,

I have recently upgraded an old Teamsite machine which used to have 5.0.2 on it, to Teamsite 5.5.2.
I uninstalled the 5.0.2 version and then installed the new version.
There are now two things which I can't seem to figure out:
1) The Administrator on the machine can no longer login to Teamsite - keep getting an "TeamSite did not recognize the username and password you entered. Please try again. " error.
I have tried using adding the local domain before the username (local_domain\administrator) - doesn't work either.
Most of the users are domain users but they can all login fine. I have also tried creating a new local domain user and that user name can login fine too.
I am not sure what the problem could be - I thought it might be the SID's as doing the new installation I had deleted the old backing store and imported a new one, and then run the iwidmap command. However within Teamsite there are now files with the local_domain\administrator attached to them - this is correct.

2) The other problem I have noticed is that in the Opendeploy GUI there are certain sections that come back with an "Unknown Server Error An unknown error has occurred on the server. "
One of them is the Start Deployment section, also New Schedule, View Configurations.
I am loged in here as myself with Admin rights, but think that this might be a permissions problem as I cannot login using the Administrator user.

If anyone has any ideas about these it would be much appreciated.

I just saw a thread in the Deployment section titled "permission denied ". This seems to be a similar problem to mine - when I try to login in myself, but I can't login as the current Bootstrap user as that is the Administrator and there are issues with that.
Is it possible to change the bootstrap user after having used OD a few times? OD is actually working fine - I can deploy. Its just the GUI is not working as well as it should be!

I think you can change the bootstrap user by manually editing the $od_home/etc/deploy.cfg file

To fix #1, try this:

iwuser -c -user <username>

Substitute the user's login for <username>. We had problems with users not being recognized when there was no obvious reason they shouldn't be, and this solved it. It's worth a shot.

Thanks for tips guys...unfortunately both do not work!
In reply to Tom first: Thanks, I went through the steps as specified in the OD551 User Guide but this did not appear to work and now I can no longer login! So that seems to be a bit odd!

And to Dave: Thanks for that - tried it, however it seems to think the user already exists as it came back with this error:
ERROR - unable to add entry to database: Item already exists

Any other ideas will be most helpful!

Ok. This is strange. After doing those changes in the previous post and not being able to login as myself anymore I decided to change the files back to what they were, ie. remove myself as the bootstrap user. Well I did this. Couldn't login. Than after a few minutes I was able to login. I have heard that sometimes Windows takes a little time to read the users...this must have been it. And, would you believe, OpenDeploy is fine now - all aspects of it are working! A little strange, so I am going to try figure out what the big difference was.

I ran that CLT Dave told me about, but using it to query the Administrator user, and it came back with a whole bunch of stuff, but one of the things it came back with was an Aliases section, where it listed my username as an alias.

Would this be a possible reason why I can login but the actual Adminitrator cannot?
