How to define the path of a dcr on unix box

rajivgupta

I am not able to define the path of a dcr on unix box.
I am calling a function which sets teh EA of a DCR but the path i am passing into that function is not correct .
The function is :
setEA ("//servername/iwmnt/default/main/myFi/WORKAREA/Global/templatedata/Article/simplearticle/data/2008/09/08/881689-80.dcr","ProductType","MutualFund",$logger);

The error i am getting is : Couldn't find file: //devbgcontent2/iwmnt/default/main/myFi/WORKAREA/Global/templatedata/Article/simplearticle/data/2008/09/08/881689-80.dcr

Please let me know how to define the path .

I guess you wouldn't need iwmnt in your path.

I have defined a function in my utils.pm to set the attribute of a dcr .

sub setEA ($$$$) {
my $file = $_[0];
my $key = $_[1];
my $value = $_[2];
my $logger = $_[3];

if (! -f $file) {
return 1, "setEA: Couldn't find file: $file";
}

my ($returnCode, @output) = execute(qq{$IWBIN/iwextattr -s '$key'='$value' '$file'},$logger);

return $returnCode, join("",@output);

} # End of sub setEA ($$$$) {

and i am trying to call this function from my wft file , like this :
my $set =****::****::Content::Utils::setEA("//servername/default/main/branchname/WORKAREA/Global/templatedata/Article/simplearticle/data/2008/09/08/881689-80.dcr",$Type,$Fund,$logger);

it returns me an error saying it is not able to find the file where as when i try to set attribute from command line with same filename , i am able to set the attribute.

Can some one help me out ?

What happens when you take out //servername. Just start with /default.

rajivgupta

It says not able to connect to the server "default" .
I think its expecting the servername at first position .

You probably do that to yourself. -f is Perl's File test unary operator, it requires a regular Path.
iwextattr is a TS CLT Command, it requires vpath that you dutifully provide. Problem is, -f does not
know what vpath is and fails. Comment out your own Path validation and try again, see if that helps
