iwgen issue

we are not able to generate file using iwgen

i am following this format

iwgen -t "tpl path"(from default) -r "dcr path" (from default) "generation path",it says

"Y:/default/main/****...../testing11.aspx: could not create"

please let us know regarding this

Could you please let us know which version of TS you're using?

Have you tried running the same as the command-line? If not, please do so. Also use iwgen.exe instead of iwgen

i have a similar kind of problem, iam unable to generate output file using iwgen when i try to generate the file inside the workarea/content folder (under my own structured folder) , but it works fine when i try to generate it under the workarea

i was using this syntax below which gives me an error saying(**Y:\default\main\archanav\IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\Content\output\products\rfid\index.html: could not create**)

iwgen -t Y:\default\main\archanav\IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\templatedata\products\global-products\presentation\product-RFID.tpl -r Y:\default\main\archanav\IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\templatedata\products\global-products\data\product-rfid.dcr Y:\default\main\archanav\
IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\Content\output\products\rfid\index.html

but wen i use the same syntax to generate the output file under my workarea, its giving the output.

iwgen -t Y:\default\main\archanav\IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\templatedata\products\global-products\presentation\product-RFID.tpl -r Y:\default\main\archanav\IntermecUser1\WORKAREA\Intermec\templ

I also used iwpt_compile.ipl to do the same and I have the same error saying could not create.

Can somebody help me wat to do reg. this ASAP

First of all - iwgen expects vpaths - not file system paths (though it often works with either in the case of the default store) - secondly - if you can create a file in the root of the workarea, but not in some sub-directory therein - that usually means there's a permissions problem, and you don't have the write / create access to the directory where you are trying to create the output file.
