Login Page Not Coming Up

Hi,

Environment Details:-
Windows 2000 SP4
Teamsite 6.5 SP3

I am not able to see the login page after typing 'http://localhost/iw-cc/' in IE.
It says "The page cannot be found"

I have checked the IIS. 'iw-mount' is properly placed with path to 'Y:' drive.
'Default Web Site' port is '80' and same is specified in 'iw.cfg' as:-
[iwwebd]
default_protocol=http
http_port=80
https_port=441
host=DTW2K025

'Y:' drive is up and running. All Interwoven related services are also up and running.

Any help is really appreciated...

One more thing, although I am login as Administrator, but I am not able to open the
Event Viewer -> Security
Event Viewer -> Application
logs on the server. It says 'Access Denied'

Should I get in touch with the IT team in my company?

Something is hosed

It may be am IIS setting, hosts, networking. I am not certain.

what about

Open a DOS shell and ping DTW2K025

Try using the ip address in the browser.

Is your TSIMP_servername user allowed the anonymous access? You might want to reset that users password, delete the iw-mount from iis and re-create it.

I tried accessing the login screen on server also but receives:-
http://localhost/iw-cc -> Page cannot be displayed
http://localhost/ -> HTTP 403(Forbidden) You are not authorized to view this page

When I ping the server by using its IP (i.e. ping IP), I receive proper reply.

By TSIMP_servername user, you mean the user mentioned at:
IIS -> properties -> Directory Security -> Anonymous access and aunthentication control

I don't know the password for that user, therefore unable to reset it. I'll try doing that tomorrow morning when IT team will be available. But yes, it allows anonymous access.

Try using https for the URLs you have tested. At one point, we had a similar issue in our QA instance and it was becuase https was turned on.

If you are log in as Administrator, you should be able to just change the TSIMP_servername user's password.

I have changed TSIMP_servername user's password, deleted iw-mount from IIS, restarted the server and then created iw-mount again in IIS. But I still receive the same error. Smiley Sad

Restart your Server's Teamsite services (in the defined order only)(stop and then start) and then try:

Stop right there.
IIS 'Default Web Site' port is '80'
iwwebd, i.e. Apache, http_port is also 80.

OOTB, IIS or customer web server port is set to 81. Why set IIS to 80? That would conflict with iwwebd (Apache).

But why I have to specify port 81 in URL? Is there any way to access the login page by http://dtw2k025/iw-cc?

In IIS, Default Web site port is set to 80. If I change it to 81, it doesn't get started. Entries in iw.cfg are:-

[iwproxy]
iwproxy_host=localhost
customer_webserver_host=DTW2K025
iwproxy_port=1080
customer_webserver_port=81

Stop IIS for a minute. Let's not worry about IIS yet, cause it is external to TeamSite.

With your settings in iw.cfg:

[iwwebd]
default_protocol=http
http_port=80
https_port=441
host=DTW2K025

Please restart TeamSite UI using the command "[iw-home]\bin\iwreset -ui". Then http://your_server/iw-cc should work, and you should be able to login.

Now, after that is working, then come back to IIS. TeamSite doesn't really need IIS until you need to preview a file. Set IIS to use port 81, restart it and try preview. You said IIS can't be started with port 81. That is either your IIS config issue, system environment issue, or a security policy issue. At least TeamSite is out of the picture from there.

If port 81 is in use by something else, set IIS to use port 82, or 83, or whatever - and then make the appropriate change to the iw.cfg file to reference that port for the "customer web server".

Thanks mdang & ghoti ... I have setup IIS on port 82 and updated iw-cfg.
Things are working fine now & also I am able to do the preview (which intially wasn't working)
