user and group access to branch

Hi,

I have added users in Administrative tools(OS users) and also aded the required users in .uid files.
NOw i need to restrict users to some branch using groups.
I tried assigning some groups in tsusers.xml under iw-home\conf\ using CLT .
But still im failing to restrict.

Actaully im using Teamsite 6.5 version, whereas in teamsite 6.7.1, i think we can add the users or group to particular branch in GUI itself.

Pl provide some clues.

You are very confused because you are attempting to manage users on one version of TeamSite based on controls that differ from two different versions of TeamSite.

I suggest you spend a bit more time reading the manuals, getting training, or hiring someone who already knows what they're doing.

The same can be handled in CommandLineTools using "IWGROUP addmembers".
But i wanna add them using UI.

I have worked on Teamsite 6.7.1, where we have an option against the branch to add users in UI.But im not sure whether it was customized or comes by default.

So pls clarify whether we can add users to group in UI in Teamsite 6.5 version.

In TS 6.7.1 the feature comes by default.

You can add users by default by going to the "Administration" tab. Once on Admin tab, in the left side of the screen go to: TeamSite Admin> Configuration> Roles and Permissions> Manage Users.

This is OOTB functionality. If you do NOT have sufficient privileges then you will NOT see the "Administration" tab altogether in CCPro.

I haven't looked at 6.5 for quite some time, but I seem to recall that there wasn't any GUI access for managing TeamSite Groups back then, and that you had to use the CLT (or manually edit the file).

You could write your own GUI for it, or you could upgrade to 6.7x and get it OOTB.

Iam concluding this post, Teamsite 6.5 doesnt hav an option to add users to particular branch using GUI, whereas this option comes default in 6.7.X....
