Does the "Passing parameters to Content Editor in v8 mode" customization work for 8.0?

Hi,

I was looking at the customization mentioned here:

I know it specifically mentions "last tested on" 8.1, but has anyone tried it for 8.0?  Does it just not work with 8.0, or it just wasn't tested there?
