OpenDeploy Comparing failure

bibulle

Using opendeploy I have some failures...
OD do not find an existing edition and I don't know why (ERROR: Error locating /iwmnt/Intranet/main/PortailAF/EDITION/ed_0249/generated/fr/.)

And what is whost, I don't know how to be advised of this !!!

First, you need to make sure that the area branch path (/iwmnt/Intranet/main/PortailAF) is correct, including case sensitivity.

Next, we'd need to see the actual deploy config file itself to see if there's an error there.

I'm sure it exists....

It seem to be a latenty problem : I've just created the new edition and the filesystem seems not to be aware about that...

I mean that to correct the problem, I execute the opendeply thwith and the second time, it works.. but it's not very nice

It's a bit difficult to diagnose problems like this without being able to see the deployment configuration file - and the associated log files. If you can zip/tar them up and attach them to a follow-up post - someone here might be able to provide some insight into why you are experiencing this problem.

And I attach the deployment configuration file

Try using "/.iwmnt" instead of "/iwmnt". The former has NFS caching turned off.
For more information on the two mount points see KB 1285.

Adam Stoller

It might be a case of cacheing latency - but as the config file is using the //IWSERVER string, there is no control over how it gets resolved.

You should probably try replacing //IWSERVER with /.iwmnt (note the '.') as was recommended - to see if it eliminates the problem, and you should probably open up a case with Interwoven Support too.

I do not see anything within the config file to explain the behavior shown in the log files other than the assumed cacheing problem.

How are you invoking the deployment ?
What is the time difference between
a. when the edition is published and
b. when the deployment is kicked off ?
In case you are doing it immediately (scripted maybe?), what happens if you wait (lets say a few minutes) after you publish an edition and then kick off the deployment.?

I have started another post reporting the exact problem ... when i came across this post i decided to add my input as well ......

Im facing the same problem as well ... ive tried to use /.iwmnt instead of /iwmnt but to no avail. I get the exact same log file results as well.

Following is the resultant OpenDeploy command which is formed if i replace /iwmnt with /.iwmnt:

/space/iw-home/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodstart scb-b2b_pss_appl -k base_edition=/.iwmnt/default/main/scb2bex_r3_appl_new/EDITION/ed_0001 -k latest_edition=/.iwmnt/default/main/scb2bex_r3_appl_new/EDITION/ed_0002 -V verbose

and the resultant log file shows the following errors:

which is the same as using /iwmnt.

The funny thing is that, using /iwmnt some part of the deployment works ( in my case i have multiple deployment definations ) and some dont but the parts that dont work arent the same when i rerun the deployment. Sometimes the whole deployment works. Pretty confusing and frustrating.

Any suggestions for further debugging ? Any workarounds for the time being ?

I think this problem occurs when you have specified a path in the pathspecification section in the deployment config file.
