Copying DCRs between branches

Hi

TS 6.7.1.

I've created a new branch and have copied a number of DCRs from an exiting branch into it. However, when trying to edit the DCRs in the new branch I'm getting an error which tells me that the cfg file in the provious branch cannot be found. I'm sure I've missed smoething obvious which means that the files are still associated in some way with the original branch ...

Before hand please mention as what process or command you had used to copy all DCRs from one branch to another? Also clarify, as you requirement is to Keep the association with original branch or Not ??

Yes, I've updated templating.cfg.

No, the association with the old branch is not to be maintained. I've used 'Copy to' to move the files.

Are you getting the error when editing the DCR in the new location, or when editing a copied generated file in the new location?

Have you verified the EAs on the file / DCR you are trying to edit?
Did you copy the DCT too? Does the DCT have associated FormAPI code? If so, check the FormAPI code and any associated callServer scripts referenced from it to see if there are any hard-coded references to the original branch. Also check any associated inline scripts.

Hey Paul,

Every DCR is associated with an (EA) extened attribute - TeamSite/Templating/DCR/Type: dataType/Category. The attribute in turns check for its associated datacapture.cfg within the branch specified in templating.cfg

Please check as what EA is associated with your DCRs in the new branch by clicking on Properties link against each DCR.
