Need help on OD Webservices

Hi All,

We are using the OD Base server and OD Admin server hosted on the same machine.

OD Base Server: Version 6.1.1.0.0 Build 68182 Interwoven 20070917
Platform: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 5)

We are able to view the Access Services running by the below URL:
http://<>:12973/iw/services/csf/1.1/accessservice

We can also see the OD service running by
http://<>:9273/iw/services/cd/1.1/opendeployservice

We have tried all the steps mentioned in the OD Admin Guide, CSF Developers guide and are successful in running the command <script-name> as mentioned in the "README_OD_WEB_SERVICE" file.

However, I am not sure how can we do this through java or perl program. I am new to webservices and don't have idea about using the OD Webservices through a JSP/CGI page.

Also, not sure how can I get the methods defined in the webservice and how may i call them in my program?

Our requirement is like this:
We have Access Services running on a machine and we need to create a web page that will have a drop down listing 4-5 OD servers.

Now we need to pass the OD servers as a parameter to the webservice and get the desired result. like the status of the selected server.

Any pointer will be of great help.

Which version of OD? Assuming OD 6.2.x -- look at the OD Dev guide's Chapter 1 - Web Services starting on page 11. It walks through setting up OD WS using the OOTB sample WS client (either in Java or .NET). It provides fairly good overview as well as step-by-step instructions in setting this up.

Try to go through that and get that up and running. More than likely for a production implementation you'll end up either customizing it or writing your own WS client. I usually prefer to do the latter.

Based on the files that you just listed, you haven't read the OD Developers guide and that is where the OD WS stuff is listed step-by-step and you have the OOTB OD WS client provided to you.

Again, OOTB OD WS client is provided to you that you can configure. Just read the OD Dev guide that I listed earlier along with the Chapter #. Do you have any experience with Web Services in general?
